Liam started playing the classical guitar at the age of 12, before expanding to the acoustic and electric guitar; expanding into genres of metal, rock, and folk. Liam received his Bachelor's in Classical Guitar from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins. Liam then received his Master’s from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Soon after, he discovered his love of teaching and has taught students from the ages of 5 to 65.
Liam’s teaching focuses on technique, health, and musicality. He is a firm believer that technique is the key to expressing oneself, but that creativity is a skill that must be equally fostered. His lessons encourage experimentation and intelligent practice. Liam is comfortable teaching all styles of music, as he believes a healthy playing of guitar and knowledge of music can sustain any genre.
